What age group does Calicoco cater for?
Ideally the children using the kits need to be able to formulate their own design ideas and be able to continue that through to creation. We have found that to get the most out of the more involved kits children should be at least 6 but some of the simpler kits could easily be used by anyone over 3, so long as they had a little supervision. Please bear in mind that each child is an individual and the ages above are only a guide. Again the upper age limit is also very subjective, in reality anyone from 6 to 80 years young could enjoy one of our kits!
Are the kits suitable for both boys and girls?
They are suitable to anyone who enjoys creating lovely things. All products are suitable for girls and the Make-A-Face kits are great for boys – who have made cricket balls, footballs and even animal faces with the same kits. The Christmas creation bauble kit is also very suitable for both boys and girls – as well as being ideal for younger children.
Will I need to buy anything else?
No, is the simple answer! The kits include everything you will need. If you choose to use our kits for a birthday party, we can help with, invitations and thank you notes or maybe a Mini-Mimi-to-go party sash for the birthday girl but these are all optional extras.
Do I need to be able to sew?
Absolutely NOT! Sewing is definitely optional. You can sew the seam which is open and used when adding the stuffing but the innovative techniques we have developed for you to use, ensure that your kit will stay intact if you follow our simple guidelines. However, you may find that your child/children may wish to sew additional accessories at a later stage, perhaps something they find in their bedroom or from a party bag? You will be surprised how enthusiastic they can be once they have a needle and thread in their hands!
Can I buy other outfits for the MiniMimi’s?
Yes! We have a great range of Make Over Kits to complement the MiniMimi-to-go kits, mermaids, flower fairies, Christmas angels and many more. And once again they include everything needed to give a MiniMimi a make over! Whilst not wishing to undersell ourselves and depending on how creative your child is…..they could always recycle some material and wool and have a go at making their own...
What exactly does ‘contents may vary’ mean?
We have no hidden agenda, it simply means that as each kit is made up individually, this can result in each being slightly different. This could mean different coloured pens or the accessories may vary and so on…..The fundamental elements will remain the same but the detail will differ.
What about safety standards?
All our kits carry the CE marking and we provide guidance notes and simple common sense notes with each kit. We currently have no products suitable for children under 36 months due to the small parts that we include like beads and glitter dots.
What do you do with any personal information I give you?
It is purely for our records. We never pass information to third parties that are not associated with Calicoco but we may use it to keep you updated with our news and product updates. You can, of course, request that we do not contact you proactively.
